A Toast to California on Friday with Marc, End of Summer Picks on Saturday

mytwosonsYou can almost see the Love for Learning on their faces! Yes, it was back to school this morning in my household. It brings some normalcy to the otherwise hectic work week. But before we get fully entrenched in Fall-mode, let’s enjoy this last, beautiful weekend of summer! I am already plotting and planning what I want to drink on Sunday; All the things I said I would try over the summer but never got around to buying. Issue 262

For many of us, with our children heading back to school at some point next week, this is really the last weekend of summer. Thankfully, Mother Nature appears to be on our side for once this month. So get that back to school shopping done early in the day and then spend some quality time with the family. (With a glass of wine in your hand, of course!)

This Friday Holly and I have selected a variety of wines with little or no relation to each other. Sometimes there is a theme: Wines from a certain region, winery or importer. Brand New Wines on Fri, Sons of Liberty Lemonade on Saturday

unnamed (5)

I am very curious to see how wines in a can do this summer. They are light and convenient but consumers have been pretty skeptical so far. Do you drink it right from the can or pour it into a glass? Will it taste tinny?

If you don’t want to go out on limb and purchase one for yourself, we’ll be sampling them throughout the beach season so keep reading your “After the Vine” to find out he dates once get into the heart of summer!

The wines are full of flavor, balanced, and approachable.

The Stone Creek Story:
Stony Creek Brewery believes this is the time for Connecticut craft beer. And our small, ambitious team is doing their part to contribute creative, high-quality beers that inspire people across the region, and invest in a bright future for the state.
Our modern brewery is a sight to be seen, with a stunning indoor/outdoor taproom, game pit, dock access, and a first-hand look at our canning and bottling lines right from the taproom.
Our team is a mix of ambitious and dedicated local residents, working alongside some of the industry’s most talented transplants that now call Connecticut their home. Together, we aim to make the best, highest-quality beer in the region, and introduce new craft beer drinkers to flavors that are both familiar and new.

Stony Creek is something the entire community can rally around, whether you root for local entrepreneurship, great craft beer, or both. We can’t wait to see you there.
